Early Immune Initiation by Porcine Cells following Toxoplasma gondii Infection versus TLR Ligation

چکیده
Containment of acute Toxoplasma gondii infection is dependent on an efficient interferon gamma response. However, the earliest steps immune response initiation immediately following exposure to parasite have not been previously characterized in pigs. Murine and human myeloid cells produce large quantities interleukin (IL)-12 during early T. infection. We therefore examined IL-12 expression by porcine peripheral blood monocytes dendritic cell (DC) subsets toll-like receptor (TLR) ligation controlled tachyzoite detected IL-12p40 plasmacytoid DC, but conventional or monocyte-derived DC TLR ligation. Unexpectedly, we also observed considerable production CD3– NKp46+ cells—a classical natural killer phenotype—following exposure, no was either cells. Despite this, IL-18 DC-enriched mononuclear live exposure. Only combined stimulation with recombinant IL-12p70 induced innate cells, while T did respond. Therefore, serve as important producers ligation, likely plays a prominent role pig

Anti-Gluten Immune Response following Toxoplasma gondii Infection in Mice
Gluten sensitivity may affect disease pathogenesis in a subset of individuals who have schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or autism. Exposure to Toxoplasma gondii is a known risk factor for the development of schizophrenia, presumably through a direct pathological effect of the parasite on brain and behavior. A co-association of antibodies to wheat gluten and to T. gondii in individuals with schiz...
متن کاملEarly response of mucosal epithelial cells during Toxoplasma gondii infection.
The innate immune response of mucosal epithelial cells during pathogen invasion plays a central role in immune regulation in the gut. Toxoplasma gondii is a protozoan intracellular parasite that is usually transmitted through oral infection. Although much of the information on immunity to T. gondii has come from i.p. infection models, more recent studies have revealed the importance of studying...
متن کاملEfficacy of rapid treatment initiation following primary Toxoplasma gondii infection during pregnancy.
BACKGROUND Treatment of Toxoplasma gondii infection acquired during pregnancy differs in many countries. In Germany, spiramycin is given until the 16th week of pregnancy, followed by at least 4 weeks of combination therapy with pyrimethamine, sulfadiazine, and folinic acid independent of the infection stage of the fetus. If infection of the fetus is confirmed by polymerase chain reaction or if ...
متن کاملCongenital Toxoplasma Gondii Infection
Pregnant women who acquire infection from Toxoplasma gondii usually remain asymptomatic, although they can still transmit the infection to their fetuses with severe consequences. Transmission of T. gondii to the fetus can result in serious health problems, including mental retardation, seizures, blindness, and death. Some health problems may not become apparent until the second or third decade ...
متن کاملIgG Avidity Test for the Diagnosis of Acute Toxoplasma gondii Infection in Early
Background: Toxoplasmosis is well known as an important infection in pregnant women. Although many serologic methods are available, diagnosis of early Toxoplasmosis may be extremely difficult. Objective: To detect the Toxoplasma IgG antibodies developed at the early stage of infection in pregnant women. Methods: 225 pregnant women, who were in the 2nd to 4th month of their pregnancy, enrolled i...
